Iquique - Update #1
For Immediate Release:
HOLDING PERIOD BEGINS JULY 1ST FOR 2007 IQUIQUE, CHILE INTERNATIONAL TOW-IN SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP

PROUDLY PRESENTED BY CITY OF IQUIQUE
Laguna Beach, CA – (July 1, 2007)

The Association of Professional Towsurfers (APT), and Gottaplay (OTCBB: GTAP), a leading destination site for video gamers and sponsors of the Gottaplay APT World Cup Tour, announced today the holding period for the Iquique, Chile International Tow-In Surfing Championship will begin July 1, 2007. The event offers a purse of $25,000.00.

The holding period for the event, which will take place at ‘El Bajo Cacho Toro’ in Iquique, Chile, will run from July 1, 2007 to September 1, 2007. When the giant swell comes and weather conditions permit, event organizers will announce the event 96-hours before start.

"Chile Is known for its amazing waves, outer reefs and left point breaks," says APT/Chile Event Organizer, Rodrigo ‘Fletcha’ Escobar, “and the waves at “El Bajo Cacho Toro” are some of the biggest and most powerful in the country.”

With the help of Surfline.com, event organizers are watching the developing storms and are waiting for nothing short of the forecasted biggest swell of the season to host the championship event. Event organizers commented that everything is in place and the City of Iquique is very excited and proud to be the presenting sponsor and make this event happen. It is highly anticipated that this event will become very big with all the international media exposure expected to document this first ever international tow-in surfing event at, “El Bajo Cacho Toro”.

Surfline.com the Official Forecaster for the APT World Tour Tow-In Surfing Circuit. With a team of expert forecasters and the LOLA global swell model, Surfline.com will make the call and help APT score the biggest waves for this world cup event. Weekly swell forecasts will be sent out to all competitors and media partners who are involved and ready to go at a moments notice. A light system has been set up on the APT website to indicate the status of the event. Check Protowsurfers.org for event status and check Surfline.com and “Know Before You Go”.

The ‘Iquique, Chile International Tow-In Surfing Championship’ is second of two scheduled events remaining for the 2007 Gottaplay.com APT World Cup Tour. The first event, ‘Red Bull El Gigante Viene’ entered its holding period of May 1, and will run thru July 30, 2007. Either event could go first in the month of July and this all depends on forecasted swell conditions.

Co-Sponsors for this year’s ‘Iquique, Chile International Tow-In Surfing Championship’ include, Gottaplay.com, Towsurfer.com, HighSurfAccessories.com and Surfline.com.

“We want to thank Gottaplay.com for their major sponsorship contribution for this year’s Gottaplay.com APT World Cup Tour, “ said APT Founder and President Eric Akiskalian. “Its continued support, commitment and patience to see this tour get off the ground, grow and become successful is what we need to make this project happen. Now we just need Mother Nature to do her thing and produce the right swells for both events. Both remaining contests will require a minimum forecast of 35’-40’ wave face height to truly make these events legitimate.”

“We love supporting these events,” said Gottaplay CEO John Gorst. “Gamers and extreme sports have a lot of the same fans.”
