The Association of Professional Towsurfers, (APT) is proud to announce that the holding period for the Red Bull El Gigante Viene tow-in event has begun and will run thru July 30, 2007.

Otherwise known as the “Mexican Pipe’ Puerto Escondido in Mexico, is the heaviest beach break in the world. Red Bull and APT, are going to wait for nothing short of the biggest day of the season with the best conditions.

The ‘Red Bull El Gigante Viene’ is one of two scheduled events for the 2007 Gottaplay.com APT World Cup Tour. The second event, ‘Iquique, Chile International Tow-In Surfing Championship will be held between June 1, 2007 and July 31, 2007.

The select list of 20 teams is comprised of the top 8 winning teams from the Oahu tow-in event that took place this past February and 8 teams that were recently voted in by a sub-committee of big wave industry leaders and experts. 4 wild card team slots were also provided.
